Help restore the coastal ecosystem by participating in this cleanup at the Frye Island Nature Preserve!
The Frye Island Nature Preserve is comprised of one large island and several smaller islands, all connecting at low tide, located at the mouth of L’Etang Harbour and L’Etang River in the Town of St. George, New Brunswick.
Frye Island is of great ecological and heritage value as an Environmentally Significant Area for migratory raptors and other birds. Species of birds that visit this Nature Preserve include the hermit thrush, the black capped chickadee, wood ducks, mallard ducks, and bald eagle among many others.
At this cleanup, teams will work together to identify and remove debris along the shorelines of the preserve. Participants should be prepared for travel by boat, collecting garbage, and some bushwhacking.
More details will be circulated to participants upon registration and in advance of the cleanup event.
