Wayne joined the Nature Trust of New Brunswick in 2000 shortly after retiring from the Provincial Government of New Brunswick. For the last 18 years of his career with the province, Wayne was the Director of Heritage. He says that this position allowed him to work with some of the most interesting, intelligent and creative people in the province.

"Having had the unique opportunity to work so closely with the Province's cultural history and cultural resources, I accepted the call to become more involved with the preservation and celebration of our natural heritage, by becoming a member of the Board of the
Nature Trust.”

Wayne was born in Saint John and has been a resident of Fredericton since 1976. He spends as much time as possible at Maces Bay on the beautiful and dynamic Bay of Fundy, an area of traditional focus of the Nature Trust and the location for many nature preserves. He is incredibly proud that new areas of the province are being studied and new preserves in these areas are being acquired and preserved.

Wayne has met many incredible individuals through his participation in the Nature Trust and he looks ahead with positive anticipation of an even more successful land and water trust, playing a significant role in preserving natural areas, ecosystems, species at risk, and simply beautiful and breathtaking corners of our Province.

Favourite Nature Preserve: Wayne has not yet visited all of the unique preserves in the province, and would like to do so before he settles on a favourite.
