Join us on November 2nd, 2022 at 4:00pm for an informative webinar presentation on waterbird surveys throughout the Port of Saint John region!

As part of Fisheries and Oceans Canada's Oceans Protection Plan Coastal Environmental Baseline Program, waterbird surveys were conducted at 34 coastal sites along the Bay of Fundy and the Saint John River. Waterbird survey data aims to inform researchers on the types of species present at a given time and location, as well as bird age, habitat preference, and behaviour.

During this webinar, we will discuss multi-year survey results, what this means for local environment and biodiversity, as well as how you can get involved with the survey!

Speaker Bio: Delaney Brooks is a recent graduate from the University of New Brunswick where she studied olive-sided flycatchers in a commercially forested landscape. She completed her BA in Environmental Studies at the University of Manitoba prior to moving to New Brunswick. Delaney is passionate about conservation of birds and is especially fond of waterfowl. Delaney has worked on several bird studies including the Port of Saint John Waterbird Project (Nature NB) and the Waterfowl Breeding Population and Habitat Survey (Canadian Wildlife Service). In her free time, she enjoys birding, hiking, and knitting.
