KATHRYN MURPHY (she/her/elle)
OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT TECHNICIAN

Kathryn started working with the Nature Trust in the summer of 2024 as an Outreach and Engagement Technician. She was born and raised in the Oromocto, N.B., area and fostered her love of the outdoors from a young age. Whether it was camping throughout the province with her family or dipping her toes in the Bay of Fundy in Alma, Kathryn knew she wanted to work toward making sure everyone could enjoy the natural wonders of New Brunswick for years to come. This led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science at the University of New Brunswick with an emphasis on marine biology, ecology, and wildlife/conservation biology, which she completed in 2022. She is passionate about contributing to conservation and protecting our natural environment while simultaneously educating the public on what they can do to help achieve the goals and vision of the Nature Trust.

In her spare time, you can find Kathryn tending to her garden with the help of her partner, cozied up with a good book and her cat, Iris, or enjoying bonfires and BBQs with her closest friends and family.

Favourite Nature Preserve: Connors Bros. Nature Preserve at Pea Point is one of her favourite spots to visit! After completing field work in the area, it quickly cemented itself as her favourite nature preserve. She especially enjoys observing and identifying the variety of algal species found along the rocky shoreline!
