EMMA FACKENTHALL (she/her/elle)
COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

Emma started working with the Nature Trust in the fall of 2024 as a Communications Intern. She was born in Kentville, Nova Scotia but has spent most of her life living in Penniac, New Brunswick. Having spent her childhood camping, biking, and making “fairy houses” under the canopy of trees, she has always held nature near and dear.

She is currently in her final year of a Bachelor of Arts degree at St. Thomas University, where she is double-majoring in Environment & Society and English Language and Literature and double-minoring in History and Criminology. Having worked as an Early Childhood Educator and Daycare Coordinator, Emma is particularly interested in evaluating the significance of access to green space and eco-literature in early years as a means to increase ecological literacy and environmental appreciation in future generations. Emma also is on her second SSHRC-funded research project on climate action and energy technologies affiliated with St. Thomas University.

In her spare time, Emma can be found reading, hiking, biking, kayaking, knitting, or tending to her plethora of houseplants.

Favourite Nature Preserve: Emma’s favourite preserve so far is the Cape Enrage Nature Preserve, which she usually visits during her trips to Fundy National Park. There are still so many preserves she hasn’t seen yet, however, and would love to visit!
