Andrea was born and raised near the Hal Hinds Forest in Carleton County. Andrea has a Masters of Library Science and a Certificate of Native Plants and Ecological Horticulture. She returned to the area in 2018 after studying and working in Montreal, Toronto, Minnesota, Iowa, and Norway, primarily as a librarian.

Andrea works on the New Brunswick Plants website project through the Fredericton Botanic Garden Association. She volunteers with the Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery, Meduxnekeag River Association, Multicultural Association of Carleton County, and NB Botany Club. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, kayaking, knitting, and snowshoeing.
