Dear Nature Trust Members,
I wish to advise that Renata Woodward has informed the Board of Directors and the Nature Trust team of her resignation as Chief Executive Officer effective August 1st, 2021, due to her planned relocation to Quebec.
Renata is an exemplary leader and the Board recognizes all that she has accomplished in building the Nature Trust to the organization it is today: a $2.7 million operation with $13 million in assets; a complement of twenty plus employees with a culture of success, ambition and growth; and most importantly, a key pillar of conservation in New Brunswick with a sound reputation supported by more than forty funders and thousands of members and volunteers, with a network of 67 nature preserves consisting of over 9,000 acres of land protected in perpetuity.
Renata will be very much missed and we can’t thank her enough for her dedication and commitment to conservation and stewardship in New Brunswick over the last dozen years. She has left an incredible legacy which will benefit the province, its flora and fauna, and the generations that live here for years to come.
The Board of Directors has struck a CEO Hiring Committee to implement a search process to find a suitably qualified individual to fill the CEO role and lead the Nature Trust of New Brunswick going forward. The Board, staff, and CEO Hiring Committee will work together with Renata to ensure a smooth transition over the coming months. The details regarding the application process and a comprehensive description of the role can be found on our website here.
